01 — Information
A small amount of local information.
AdsClickShield handles information on your device to protect supported webpages. The extension does not automatically send that information to the developer or a third-party service.
- Website information
- The current tab's URL is used to identify its hostname. Page scripts inspect link destinations and recognized click-trap elements to apply protection. Frames can also receive protection according to their own hostname rules.
- Your preferences
- The enabled state, protection mode, and domains you add to the allowlist or disallowlist are saved in your browser. Domain entries store hostnames, rather than URL paths.
- Protection activity
- Temporary counters record observed scripted popup attempts, artificial external link clicks, removed known traps, and blocked supported ad setup requests. A bounded recent-event list contains action types and timestamps.
The extension does not create a persistent browsing-history log, record keystrokes, or collect passwords, payment details, or personal communications. Its page inspections are limited to the information needed for the protection features described above.
02 — Purpose
Used to keep your clicks yours.
Local information is used to decide where protection runs, block supported scripted popups and external link clicks, and apply the additional known-trap and ad-library guards on YTS.
It also lets the toolbar show the current site's status, explain a matching domain rule, display observed activity, and identify when a page needs reloading. A small activity observer runs on supported pages, including exempt pages, to distinguish an exemption from an outdated guard state.
There is no account system, advertising profile, analytics service, or use of this information for unrelated marketing.
03 — Storage & retention
Settings stay. Page activity resets.
Your preferences and domain lists are stored in chrome.storage.local and persist across browser restarts. AdsClickShield does not use Chrome's sync storage or its own cloud service to store these settings.
Protection counters and recent actions stay in page memory. They are not written to a browsing-history database. A new document, including a page reload, starts new activity counts. Removed frames no longer contribute to the current snapshot.
You can remove saved domain entries in the extension's settings. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension storage. Any diagnostics you copied to the clipboard or saved elsewhere remain under your control and are not removed by uninstalling.
05 — Permissions
Access with a purpose.
All executable extension code is included in the installed package. The extension does not fetch remotely hosted executable code. Chrome's restrictions still apply to browser-internal pages and other protected pages.
06 — Your choices
Control stays in your browser.
- Choose your coverage. Protect supported sites with exceptions, or protect only the domains you select.
- Edit your lists. Add or remove domains through the toolbar popup or Manage lists.
- Pause protection. The global switch preserves your preferences. Reload existing pages to apply the change. The small activity observer remains available on supported pages to report guard status.
- Choose whether to share diagnostics. Copying is optional, and uploading a report is never automatic.
- Remove the extension. Uninstall it through Chrome to stop its scripts from loading on future pages and remove its local settings. Reload already-open pages to clear installed page guards.
07 — Limited Use
Only for the features you use.
AdsClickShield's use of information obtained through Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Information is used only to provide the extension's disclosed protection, settings, status, and diagnostic features. It is not sold, used for personalized advertising, used for creditworthiness or lending decisions, or transferred for purposes unrelated to these features.
08 — This website
Website requests are separate.
This website is hosted through Cloudflare and loads fonts from Google Fonts. Visiting it makes requests to those providers, which may process technical request information such as your IP address and browser details under their own privacy policies: Cloudflare and Google.
The website's code does not include analytics or advertising trackers, create tracking cookies, or send its visual interaction effects to a reporting service. Its animations use pointer and scroll information in browser memory.
These website requests are separate from the extension. The extension does not send your browsing activity or domain lists to the website, Cloudflare, or Google Fonts. Websites you visit, Chrome, the Chrome Web Store, and any support service have their own privacy practices.
09 — Updates & contact
Questions are welcome.
For privacy questions, email help@juaraweb.biz. Share only the details needed for your question; diagnostics are optional.
If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents you choose to send. We use that information to respond and investigate your request, retain it only as needed for those purposes or legal obligations, and do not use it for unrelated advertising. Email is processed by the email services used to send and receive your message.
We will update this page when the extension's data practices change and revise the date above. Changes that affect the extension's disclosures will also be reflected in its Chrome Web Store information.
